Katahdin are a "hair" sheep, developed for their meat.
Every year they shed out their thicker winter coat, eliminating the need
for shearing. They are heat, humidity and cold tolerant. They are also parasite
resistant. (For more history of the breed - click on button)

Their
meat is sweeter and more delicate than the typical wooly sheep. They love
weeds! They will graze on the undesirables before they go to the grass.
With careful grazing management, you can use them to improve your
pastures.
We have both commercial and registered animals.
In 2007 we added a Dorper ram and some crossbred Katahdin ewes to our
flock. We should be lambing January of 2008.
