Belle arrived in the world a beautiful shade of ivory 'taupe'. The only hint that she would become buckskin were the black hairs mixed into her mane and tail, and her lovely dark eyes. From birth her wide blaze and four white stocking were visible, but the black points didn't make their appearance until she shed her first foal coat.
With the irregular stocking and her blaze extending under the chin, I am sure that Belle also carries the sabino gene.
She will always be eye catching, no matter how her color matures! |
