The Anatolian Shepherd
dog originated on the Anatolian Plateau in Turkey. They were bred as a
guardian breed more than 6000 years ago.
From ancient times the
Anatolian Shepherd dogs were a primary defense from predators. They lived
among, and blended in with the animals they were guarding. They are
capable of making independent decisions, and living in harsh environments.
Anatolians were
developed through a set of very demanding circumstances for utilitarian
purposes. They are working guard dogs, and will protect both livestock and
property.
We have noticed that our
dogs are very sight orientated. They will notice any change - even miles
away. They are not aggressive towards people or other stock in their
realm.
