Cassiopeia was our first buckskin foal from our cremello stallion. Her dam Princess, was a wonderful mare, which we lost to a freak accident when Cassi was only three months old. She is the classic buckskin, with no white markings (except for a few white guard hairs in her mane and top of her tail). In summer she has sports a lovely dappled coat, with the jet black markings.
Cassi went to a trainer in the Bitterroot in the fall of 2010 and had 30 rides. She has then spent the spring and summer with a wonderful lady trainer, and the trainer, Kathy, has made a wonderful mare out of Cassiopeia. She is well started, eager to please, calm and willing. She measured a solid 14.3 barefoot.
Kathy has been polishing Cassi's flat foot walk and fox trot. Cassi stands still for mounting, grooming, feet etc. Cassi has been out on the trail, and loves it. She is calm with water, both standing and running, bridges, logs etc. You can ride her in the front, or put her in the middle of the line. She is often calmer with the unexpected than more "experienced" trail horses.
She loads and hauls nicely. She is up to date with shots and worming.
She is going to make someone an Awesome companion and horse! She's friendly but respectful. And we think she is gorgeous!
